Crimson TidBit - Gardening For the Rest of Us
It’s not too late to start a garden this year.
If you are like me and have been away from gardening for far too long or have never really gardened much, you might need help.
I mean, you don’t just plant a seed and walk away from it. Or do
you?
I’ve got a buddy that runs greenhouses. He works his tail off.
But he gets phenomenal results. I think he planted and grew 50,000
tomato seedlings in a couple weeks.
That is difficult to even conceive of doing from where I am sitting.
In any case, another friend, Jarrod, who has had input into a recent
Crimson TidBit and who published a book with us, turned me on to a
resource/growing method that has worked in every country it has
been tried.
It’s called Mittleider Method Gardening. They have heaps of free
resources available to the beginner and expert alike.
And they don’t make you feel like a goof ball for not knowing much
of anything about gardening.
There is also a Yahoo Group where they share information and I’ve
joined myself - in anticipation of growing my first garden since I
was a kid. It’s been about that long since I had a “real” yard,
you know the kind with DIRT in it.
This Yahoo Group even has pictures of all sorts of gardens and
types of vegetables. They even get into building greenhouses if
you are inclined.
With food prices going up, lots of us are GETTING INCLINED.
I’m so excited about my own forthcoming garden I can hardly stand
it.
Imagine, real fresh produce from your own garden. No more store
bought wilted lettuce for me, thanks.
My friend Jarrod says you can support a family of four on four
hundred square feet of garden, using the Mittleider Method. We’ll
start out with about 1/4 that size and go from there.
I mean, uh, somebody has to do the work of gardening.
Ah, but it’s good exercise. Keeps you young. Actually, I’ve
noticed that the healthiest elderly ladies at my Church all keep a
garden.
Did you know you can have quite a substantial garden using pots?
It’s true!
Part of the secret to achieving phenomenal gardening results is to go
vertical. But for the specifics, purchase the Mittleider Method of
Gardening eBook.
